8/23/14- The White Mountain DUI Task Force will be conducting their annual White Mountain DUI Checkpoint. This year will be the 9th year the checkpoint has. Operates at SR 260, milepost 354.5. There will be a Law Enforcement Briefing at 6:00p.m. at the Game and Fish Office (located just above milepost 354.5). The purpose of the checkpoint is to ensure the safety of motorists in the White Mountain area, detect and apprehend any impaired motorists, and to bring awareness to the problem of impaired driving.

The checkpoint will go active between 6:30-7:00 p.m. and run until at least midnight. The checkpoint will merge traffic in both directions into one lane. The Task Force would like to remind motorists to be responsible with the decisions they are making in relation to operating a motor vehicle while being impaired. It is far less expensive when you make the right decision to have a designated driver or a cab take you home. The life you save may be your own.
