Resources Assigned: one Type 6 Engine and Miscellaneous overhead
Summary: The Sam Jim Fire is burning in ponderosa pine with a grass understory and in mixed conifer. Fire crews continue to monitor this fire and it’s behavior to keep it within desired conditions. The north end of the fire is in steep canyon country with a high occurrence of snags. Fire fighter safety is our number one priority and placing them in steep unstable terrain could have adverse effects, so we will continue to monitor this area.
