Winter Driving Conditions 2/11/13

A winter storm warning remains in effect until 8 pm this evening in many areas. Periods of moderate to heavy snow will continue through early evening. Expect difficult winter driving conditions with periods of zero visibility in heavy snow showers and slick snow packed roads.

If you must travel, please give yourself plenty of time. Make sure to take emergency supplies that include winter clothing/blankets, food, water and a flashlight. Tell family or friends your route of travel, vehicle description and estimated time of arrival.

Winter Weather Conditions for 2/11/13

Snow showers will continue today as a trough moves west to east across northern Arizona. Significant snowfall will occur over portions of central and northeastern Arizona where a winter weather advisory for snow has been issued.

Expect difficult winter driving conditions today with slick snow packed roads and periods of near zero visibilites in moderate to heavy snow showers.

Weather & Roads update for 1/29/13

Scattered snow showers will exit the eastern border of the state around sunrise this morning. Much of the area will see a mostly sunny and cold start to the day with breezy northwest winds.

Cloud cover will increase over the higher terrain from the Mogollon Rim eastward by afternoon as snow showers re-develop. These snow showers will be most numerous near the New Mexico border and over the White Mountains later today and this evening. Heavier showers may produce several inches of new snow late today especially over the White Mountains. Skies will clear by late evening with another cold night expected.

Expect ice and snow packed roads. Use caution when driving!
