  1. where do we take our horses if we have to evacuate from Lakeside? We have 4. wherre do people take their family pets, eg dogs?

    • We would advise that you do NOT travel to the area. We are under a pre-evacuation order and do not want people to come to the area unless there is dire need.

  2. what do we do if we are forced to leave but have no transportation and i have a 4 yr old and no money im alone and a little freaked out!

    • I can understand being “freaked out” for sure. Once they declare evacuations, we will post a phone number that you may call for assistance. Also, if you would email me your physical location, and a phone number where you can be reached, I can let the Navajo County Emergency Management know that you need assistance. On the 311info webpage, under contact us, I am Beverly Parks with the Apache County Emergency Management. Please email me your information so it is not posted on the 311.

  3. If there is an evacuation, will the roads coming in to ShowLow and ptop/lakeside be closed until people are allowed back in?

    • Unfortunately, pets are not allowed at the Snowflake evacuation location, unless it is a service animal. Pets/ animals can be taken to the Navajo County Fairgrounds, located at 404 E. Hopi Dr., Holbrook, Arizona.

    • We are trying hard to continually get updated information. We are hoping we can get more current informaiton as the fire progresses.

      • We agree and are working with the Incident Command Team to provide that information. We will know more in the morning after they provide the update at the morning briefing.

    • Yes it is. US 60 is closed in both directions, just east of the State Route 73 junction. State Route 73 is still completely open.
