  1. I echo the earlier sentiment regarding the firefighting taking place. Quick question: Does this give an edge to NOT having to evacuate Show Low? And would air quality have anything to do with that decision?

  2. That’s a big step in the right direction. The men and women working out there are the best at what they do for a reason. Thank you all so much

  3. Thanks to all the firefighters , and everyone involved from planes, helicopters, supervisors and office personnel for the great job you’re doing. Be safe.

  4. Thank you, firefighters. I can only imagine how hard you working. I appreciate you so much. No matter what, be safe!!

  5. We are so impressed with the great work of all of the Agencies involved with protecting us,
We have continued to pray for their safety,
    Thank You All

    • The fire is estimated at approximately 6,500 acres and still moving in a northeasterly direction. Lakeside is still on pre-evacuation notice. We have not received any word of an evacuation yet.

  6. I would just like to know, year after year, why do so many of these fires seem to start on the Apache reservation when there is no lightning, which then go on to threaten our homes? If these are arson, as firefighters are telling me off the record, why aren’t people being arrested, charged and convicted?

    • Yes it is, however, it is closed east of the Highway 73 junction in both directions. If you take Highway 60, you’ll have to take Highway 73 through Whiteriver.

    • US60 is still closed from mile post 337 to mile post 318. Maybe you can find a different route to make that happen.
