6/15/16 – The Cedar Creek Fire has reached 1,000+ acres. Crews are on scene in addition to the Very Large Air Tanker as well as additional air support. Additional resources have been ordered. Crews will be conducting back-burning to stop fire progression which will be causing additional smoke. There are NO evacuations ordered at this time!! We will update as we learn more information.
Please Notify
If an evacuation is required…is there a community center or location designated yet?
Snowflake JR High (1380 Main Street, Snowflake) has been designated as our shelter/evacuation point for this incident.
Please keep this updated. I need to get into show low and i keep hearing that the 260 is closed and the 60 is closed.
We are attempting to update as often as CONFIRMED information is received. Only highway 60 is closed.
We are updating as soon as we are given the information. US 260 is not closed, only US 60.
Can I access 73 from 60? (coming from globe)
Yes, as of now. It may change depending on the fire.
Where is a more current update? I know its up to 2500 acres now. Please post new info. Tv stations are not.
Tasha, the current acres is 3,000+ the post at 9:15 is the most current available information from fire and law enforcement officials.
My love, respect, caring & Prayers go out to all.
Thank you for having this info available for all.
Thank you very much. It is our pleasure.
Has evacuation started? I run Transportation for the sick, and show low dialysis has called all patients and moved treatment to Flagstaff… Do you anticipate a evacuation as of now, we will need to let patients know! Some traveling from outskirt cities require treatment with life or death situation, the sooner we know, the sooner we can make other arrangements…..
Evacuations have not started as of yet. Only pre-evacuations have been issued for Show Low, Pinetop, and Lakeside. I am not sure as to when to expect a full evacuation, if at all, as we do not have that information as of yet. We will provide updates as soon as we receive the information. Feel free to periodically check the Navajo County or Apache County Emergency Management Facebook pages or contact the 311 Hotline for more up-to-date information.
Thanks Much for being on top of responding! You guys are doing an awesome job! I will check back in a bit
Any updates as of now for evacuation? Still in pre mode??
Is 60 still closed I need to be in tucson in the morning tomorrow a NV d need to make other arrangements if its close. Any updates on evaccuations?
Yes, Highway 60 is still closed between mile marker 321 and 337, just east of the Highway 73 junction and there is no word on when it is expected to be re-opened. Unfortunately, your best bet for traveling to Tucson would be to travel through Alpine and Safford via Highway 191. Also, there are no evacuations as of yet, only Show Low, Pinetop, and Lakeside are on pre-evacuation notice.
Do you know if we will get evacuated for pinetop
If evacuations begin, yes, Pinetop will be included.
I am not so familiar with the US 60, but if I am traveling from Pinetop to the east valley, the US 73 is still open to the US 60 to then go west or southbound to the valley?
US 73 is still open and yo can still go west on Highway 60 towards Globe from that junction.
Please contact me if and when evacuation notice is eminent. Thank you for all you do for the White Mtn communities.
Law enforcement personnel will go door-to-door in the event of evacuation. If you are not already signed up, please consider signing up for Ready Navajo County. That will be the quickest way to get alerts.
How will we be notified if we have to evacuate?

Do you know if they have any containment of the fire as of now? I could see the fire from my window and now I don’t even see a glow? God bless and watch over the fire fighters and hotshots involved.
Please check update.
Is the road south out of Pinetop, open from White River to Salt River and Globe?
As of now yes.
With the US 60 closed, from Pinetop can you access the US 60 from the US 73 southbound towards Globe?
As of now, yes you can.
Thank you for you work on this page
Yes you can as of now.
Not necessarily, but the fire is moving in a predominately northwest direction.
How can we see the press conference?
It is streaming live on Channel 10
We have been posting information. You may need to hit your refresh button.

Is the fire near the point
Do you think the Show Low-Lakeside area will be evacuated?
At this time, no. We will be getting and posting more information from the Incident Command Team in the morning after they provide a briefing to us.
As of now is the road still open from Globe using I60 to Hawley Lake using 73?
Is the road from Globe to Hawley Lake using 60 and 73 open?
Yes.
Could you please ans the question…how many miles from showlow is the fire???
The information we have received is that the fire is still about 8 miles from Pinetop. Officials have said fire crews have been able to hold their lines in the same location as of yesterday. So from what we’ve been told, it doesn’t sound as if there has been any recent advancement towards the Show Low area.
Is traffic allowed westbound on Hwy 73? It states eastbound is using it. Just trying to get to Tucson.
73 is open, only US60 between Whiteriver through Show Low is closed.
Need to know about Cedar Creek fire. No update since 6/15/16. Do I need to look somewhere else?
Please see last post.
Is 260 from Payson open to 60 going into Show Low?
Yes it is.
Yes, that is open.
Thanks for the update!!
updated Info on the fire.
The Cedar Creek Fire is currently estimated at 9,200 acres with still no containment. We have been told that fire crews have been able to hold their lines and the fire is still estimated to be approximately 8 miles from Pinetop area. Show Low, Pinetop, and Lakeside are still under pre-evacuation notice. We are hoping to get more information at the next press conference.
Confusing info on press conference. Is it at 10:00
Or 11:45??? What site do I watch it on???
There will be a press conference held at the Show Low High School at 11:45am. It will be covered by local news sources (Channel 12, 10, 15, and 5), as well as local radio stations. The press conference can also be viewed on the Navajo County Emergency Management Facebook page, Navajo County Facebook page, and the Navajo County website.
How is the fire last I heard it was 1\4 mile from the point is that true
What if the fire gets over that fire mark and it’s not 8 to 9 miles from show low
left for home today from visiting. Prayers it gets extinguished quickly as possible. Stay safe! God be with you!
What is the latest update on the Cedar Creek Fire?
should we change our camping plans to Hawley Lake on the weekend of the 25th and 26th
That would be your decision, however, I can tell you that there is a lot of smoke in the area and there is still a pre-evacuation notice so in the event they do evacuate, you would have to turn around and leave.
