Weather Outlook for Northern Arizona – Very Cold Temps!

12/5/2013 – Lingering snow showers in the White Mountains should bring 1 to 2 inches of accumulation today. Areas of low clouds and fog are expected this morning along and north of the Mogollon Rim. Today high temperatures will be well below normal.

Starting Friday expect very cold high and low temperatures through Monday with temperatures in the 20’s and 30’s across much of Northern Arizona. Another storm system is expected this weekend and most location have a good chance of snow. Snow should develop across Western Arizona Saturday afternoon and spread Eastward Saturday night. Present indications are for 3 to 7 inches of snow above 5000 feet and 1 to 3 inches below 5000 feet. Clearing moves in from west to east on Sunday.

Prepardness tips:

* make sure you have plenty of heating fuel available, check chimneys, pipes or other heating sources to make sure they are functioning correctly

*learn how to use the shut-off valves in your home in case of a pipe break

*stock up on drinking water, food, warm clothing and blankets in case of power outage (don’t forget medication and supplies for pets!)
