Final Update On Show Low Police Shooting

Erickson was located at Lake of the Woods in Lakeside where he
barricaded himself inside a cabin with a hostage (a 15 year old female).
Members of the White Mountain Special Response Team and area law
enforcement officers surrounded the suspect and began negotiations. DPS
SWAT was called and upon their arrival took over the scene. During
approximately six and half hours of negotiations with Erickson, he sporadically
shot at officers. The standoff came to an end when Officers finally returned fire
and killed Erickson. The hostage was safely recovered and taken to the hospital
for evaluation.

​There is currently a stand-off situation in the Pinetop-Lakeside area with a suspect that is linked to the earlier shooting in Show Low. Negotiations with the suspect are in progress at this time.
 Highway 260 is closed at Lakeview Lane and at Porter Mountain Road. Please avoid this area and take alternate routes if you must travel.
