The managed Playground fire on Fort Apache continues to produce smoke that has been carried as far as Winslow. Citizens with respiratory problems should keep their windows and doors closed and minimize their activity while the smoke remains in the area.
The Playground fire is being managed by Fort Apache and they have a line around the 3,200 acre fire and managing the burn. The weather conditions are causing the smoke to drift into the Pinetop-Lakeside and Show Low areas. The Forest Manager is Logan Lawson and Public Information Officer is Candy Lupe.
