Poco Fire Update

The Poco Fire has grown to 3,700 acres with 15% containment since it was reported June 14, 2012. There are now over 700 personnel working on this fire with crews are here from Arizona, California, Idaho, Utah, New Mexico, Wyoming, and Montana. Efforts continue in protection of the APS powerlines that run through the area. Smoke is visible in areas of Apache and Navajo Counties. ADEQ is monitoring the air quality and has brought a a portable particulate monitor for Heber-Overgaard.

Fire Start N. of Green’s Peak – Mineral C area Named the Brady Fire

Fire crews have responded to a fire start north of Green’s Peak in the Mineral C area and is about a half acre in size, cause not determined. Springerville Ranger District Fire crews and Vernon Fire are on scene.  A helicopter had been ordered to do bucket work along with a dozer and water tender.   The legal location is: 9N, 26E, Sec. 17.  Smoke will be highly visible from both Hwys 260 and 60.

Update:  Perimeter line is around fire and crews are performing mop up.
