Power Outage in Heber-Overgaard, Airpine, Claysprings

Navopache Electric is working on the transformer that is causing electrical outages in the area. They have estimated that they will have the repairs complete around 2:00 a.m. December 17th. A warming station will be available to the public at the Heber-Overgaard Fire Department at 9:00 p.m. tonight. A STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING WIDESPREAD RAIN AND SNOW TO MUCH OF NORTHERN AND CENTRAL ARIZONA THROUGH THIS MORNING. RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS WILL DECREASE BY THIS AFTERNOON TO MORE SCATTERED INTERMITTENT SHOWERS.
ACCUMULATIONS THROUGH NOON TODAY WILL RANGE FROM 2 TO 5 INCHES ABOVE 6000 FEET…AND 4 TO 8 INCHES ABOVE 7500 FEET…ALONG THE SOUTHERN EDGE OF THE MOGOLLON RIM 8 TO 16 INCHES…WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS OF 12 TO 20 INCHES POSSIBLE ABOVE 8500 FEET. December 12, 2012: NWS Has Issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Apache and Navajo Counties Beginning at Midnight Thursday Night

Winter Weather Advisory in effect from midnight Thursday night to noon Friday for elevations above 7000 feet.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of falling snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery
roads and limited visibilities.

Plan extra time for travel… and use caution while driving. Take emergency travel supplies including winter clothing… food… water
and a flashlight.
