There is a fire located in Apache County. It is on the Ridge overlooking Forest Service Road 96 & 61. Forest Service Road 96 is closed to the public at this time. As more information becomes available, we will post it.
Strong Winds Today – Red Flag and Critical Fire Weather

AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE ACROSS THE SOUTHWEST TODAY BRINGING STRONGER WINDS…GUSTING TO 40 MPH…TO PORTIONS OF NORTHERN ARIZONA. IN ADDITION…VERY LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY WILL COMBINE WITH THE STRONG WINDS TO CREATE CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS. A RED FLAG WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR PORTIONS OF NORTHERN ARIZONA TODAY
DeHose Fire Final Update
This fire is still under investigation. The fire is 73% contained and has burned 1843 acres.
Fire Crews will continue to mop-up and patrol for spots over the line. They will also continue suppression rehabilitation of dozer line and hand line and chipping of slash. The fire will be turned back to local fire officials at the Fort Apache Agency Thursday evening.
Closures/Restrictions: For Safety reasons, the public is asked not to drive on access roads near or around the Fire area.
