6/19/16 6:00 Show Low, AZ – Several public meetings are scheduled on Monday June 20, and Tuesday June 21. The first meeting is being hosted by the White Mountain Apache Tribe, the town of Pinetop-Lakeside is hosting the second meeting and the City of Show Low is hosting the third meeting. The public meetings are at the following locations:

• June 20, 2016, 11:00am, Hon Dah Casino Conference Center, Whiteriver Conference room, 777 AZ-260, Pinetop, AZ
• June 20, 2016, 6:30pm, Blue Ridge High School, Main Auditorium 1200 W. White Mountain Blvd., Lakeside, AZ
• June 21, 2016, 5:30pm, Show Low City Hall, Council Chamber 181 N, 9th St., Show Low, AZ

Members of the Southwest Incident Management Team will provide an update on current and anticipated fire activity, and will answer questions.

The following are dates and times for Community Meetings.

Community meeting for Pinetop-Lakeside, Show Low, will be held Monday, June 20, 2016 at 6:30 pm, at the Blue Ridge High School. The address is 1200 W White Mountain Road.

The Community meeting for Hondah and McNary will be June 20, 2016, at 11:00 am at the Hondah Casino in the Whiteriver Conference Room. The address is 777 Highway 260.

There will be a community meeting on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at 5:30 pm at the City Hall Council Chambers (181 N. 9th) in Show Low. This meeting will be live on the local cable channel 56.

Fire activity has increased along the southern edge of the fire as predicted, specifically along the southeast and southwest flanks.

The fire remains north of Long Tom Canyon and west of Cedar Creek.

Meteorologists are predicting a shift in winds around 8pm from the current north/northwest direction back to the southern direction that we have seen throughout the past few days.  This will potentially slow fire growth as the winds turn the fire back to areas that have already been burned

The fire is advancing south toward the Gila County line and the Carrizo and Cedar Creek communities, however, there are NO pre-evacuation notices for those communities at this time. Incident Management teams will continue to work with the White Mountain Apache Tribe to determine the best course of action.

The fire is also actively burning south along Hwy 60. Firefighters, in coordination with Navopache Electric, are looking for opportunities to conduct burnout operations along the highway. When they are able to conduct these operations, the electric cooperative may need to turn off the power line for a short time to provide for the safest possible environment for firefighters.

The Incident management team has ordered additional resources to assist in the continued firefighting efforts including 6 additional fire crews and additional aircraft
