Fire crews intensely fought hazardous fire conditions throughout the day. The fire was driven by winds from the northwest, but that is expected to change and gust from the south throughout the night.
The fire did grow to the south, but there are still NO pre-evacuation orders in place for the communities of Carrizo and Cedar Creek at this time. There are STILL pre-evacuation notices for Show Low, Pinetop-Lakeside, McNary and Hon-Dah.
