Red Flag Warning for May 17

5/17/18 – The National Weather Service has forecast a Red Flag Warning for today for southern Coconino, southern Apache and southern Navajo Counties. Winds are expected to be 15-20 MPH with gusts up to 35 MPH and relative humidity between 5% to 12%.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring or are imminent. A combination of strong winds and low relative humidities can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Red Flag Warning for Saturday

5/12/18 The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for today begging at 10:00 a.m. until this evening at 8:00 p.m.

ALL burning activity is strictly prohibited! A Red Flag Warning means critical fire danger is high!

If you have car trouble and be need to pull off if there road make sure to choose a place clear of vegetation to avoid igniting a fire. Make sure the chains are properly attached and not dragging. Smoking is only allowed in an enclosed vehicle it building.

Stage 2 Fire Restrictions

5/9/18 – Many of our citizens have been asking questions regarding the restrictions in place in the counties. While many jurisdictions have similar restrictions there are some differences. We encourage everyone to check specific agency/jurisdiction information whenever possible. If something is not listed, the best rule of thumb is to use the motto, “When in doubt, put it out!”.
