Flash Flood Warning for Cedar Creek

7/27/18 – The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Cedar Creek. go near the creek! Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.
Heavy rainfall over the Cedar fire scar will likely trigger life threatening flash floods in and downstream of the fire area.
Residences in the community of Cedar Creek may be affected by high water and debris. Some roadways will be inundated or washed out. Move to higher ground immediately. Areas impacted by this warning include but are not limited to Carrizo, the Cedar Creek community, Long Tom Canyon, and Cedar Canyon.

Ranch Fire

The lightning ignited #RanchFire was discovered Tuesday afternoon (7/24) in a remote area near the north boundary of the Black Mesa Ranger District. Fire crews are on scene and additional crews are on order. There are currently no immediate values at risk. Smoke from this fire is visible from Heber-Overgaard.

Monsoon Season is in Full Swing

I’m sure you have noticed the rain that we have received lately. A downside to the rains are the flooding that they can cause. Please take extra precautions when flooding is present. Turn around, don’t drown!

Please note that HW 191 between St. Johns and Sanders is experiencing some flooding in areas. Please watch for signs and workers on the roadways.
