  1. I have asked previously but not received an answer. How many and what kind of aircraft are actively supporting this fire. I just had a chopper fly over my house 10 miles east of Show Low. Hope there is not another fire out here.

    • There are 5 SEATs (Single Engine Air Tankers) available to the fire. There are 7 helicopters assigned to the incident. All of those can be “loaned” out as needed to assist the other resources that are assigned for initial attack

    • Dennis M….
Doubt 311 will post this however we’ve had helicopters pass over us here in Lakeside and they are getting water from some of the nearby lakes to use on or near the fire…….

      • The helicopters have a few dip points that they are utilizing to obtain water. You will see them flying over the Lakeside area.

          • with the recent upgrade in Emergency status allowing additional resources, will more aircraft and fire fighter personnel be coming? Also what is meant by “mop up” and where is that occuring?

  2. PLEASE LET ALL OF THE FIRE PERSONNEL KNOW HOW VERY BLESSED WE ARE TO HAVE SUCH A WONDERFUL GROUP ON THE FIRE LINE TO PROTECT THE DIFFERENT COMMUNITIES AND FOREST. YOU HAVE BEEN PLACED ON THE PRAYER CHAIN AT THE COMMUNITY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH IN PINETOP AND KNOW GOD WILL KEEP ALL OF YOU SAFE.

THANK YOU,THANK YOU TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  3. I really understand and appreciate all the hard work the folks on the ground are doing but it seems these little aircraft can only do so much. Then they can also be loaned out??? If we could have kept the big air tanker I think this fire would have been under control long ago. Also, the helicopter that flew over my house had no water bucket or anything hanging out of it. And it was only a few hundred feet above ground.

    • There is a limited number of aircraft that are certified for fighting fires within the U.S., these aircraft are utilized throughout the country during fire season. The helicopter that flew over your house may have been performing another mission type for the fire, or had just returned from re-fueling.

  4. I have tried for 3 days to dial #311 for information,I get a recording stating your call can not be completed as dialed. Also tried *311 get the same recording.
