The latest update we have received on the Marshall Fire is that it is staying within its current footprint. It is not growing anymore. Final mop-ups are being conducted.
Marshall Fire
24 acres now that smoke has cleared (NO change in acreage overnight***)
80% containment (NO change in containment overnight****)
A crew of 40 workers continued to work on the fire throughout the night. Many more resources will be on scene this morning to take advantage of the lighter winds over the next couple of days.
All residents on SET mode are back on READY. Please remember we are ALWAYS on READY!
UPDATE: ALL previously mentioned residents have been moved OFF SET status to READY status. FS road 283 will continue to be closed through the night.
Apache County Sheriffs office has advised that the following residential areas are on ‘SET’ status for the Marshall Fire in the Vernon area: Brusally and the area inside the polygon on the map. PLEASE know there are Sheriff’s Office Volunteers and Deputies in the area notifying the residents. Again, please avoid the area if possible as Emergency vehicles are coming in and out.
