5/21/14 9:30 a.m. – Dry and windy conditions will continue today as a low pressure system slowly approaches northern Arizona. A Red Flag Warning is in effect today for portions of east central Arizona. In addition wind gusts up to 45 MPH are anticipated with a wind advisory for much of the same area. A low pressure system will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms from Thursday into Saturday mainly ending on Sunday.

Update on the San Carlos Fires

The Skunk Fire is now at 31,167 acres and is 44% contained. This fire was lighting caused. The Barlow Fire is at 1,163 acres and is human caused. Residents of the White Mountains are still experiencing a significant amount of smoke due to these two fires.
