Red Flag Warning issued for Thursday, April 15, 2021

A Red Flag Warning has been issued for eastern Arizona including portions of Coconino, Navajo, and Apache Counties Thursday, April 15th from 10 am MST / 11 am MDT through 8 pm MST / 9 pm MDT.

A Wind Advisory has also been issued in conjunction with the Red Flag Warning for eastern Arizona including portions of Coconino, Navajo, and Apache Counties Thursday from 10 am MST / 11 am MDT through 8 pm MST / 9 pm MDT.

As a reminder…Burning is NEVER permitted during a Red Flag event

Red Flag Warning for Navajo, Apache and Coconino Counties

The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a Red Flag Warning due to strong winds and low relative humidity for Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from noon to 8 PM MST.

Remember, burning is NEVER permitted during a red flag event as A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring or are imminent. A combination of strong winds and low relative humidity can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

* AFFECTED AREA…Locations near Buffalo Pass, Dilkon, Eagar- Springerville, Forest Lakes, Ganado, Heber-Overgaard, Holbrook, Kykotsmovi, Saint Johns, Snowflake-Taylor, Window Rock and Winslow. This includes portions of the Apache- Sitgreaves National Forest, Coconino National Forest and Tonto National Forest.

* WINDS will be out of the Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts 40-50 mph.
