The Cameron Fire is located East of Alpine, South of Hwy 180, off Apache County Road 2310. The fire was mapped this morning at 307 acres, and is fully lined. There is a wind event predicted for this afternoon which will test the fire lines. Containment at this time is 0% due to the pending wind event. Apache County Road 2310 is closed to the public until further notice.

The Cameron Fire in Alpine has been lined, and crews are mopping up fire edges this evening. Fire crews will return tomorrow. The real test will be tomorrow if the winds come up.

The fire in Alpine has been named the Cameron Fire. It is estimated to be at 35-40 acres. The Black Mesa Hot Shots have arrived and are working the fire. Fire behavior is starting to moderate with the cloud cover and cooler temperatures, while Dozers make progress around the fire lines. Resources fighting the fire include 3 air tankers and 2 helicopters.
