06/17/2016, 4:00pm

As of now, there is no new information to relay, but it is reported that the Cedar Creek Fire has covered approximately 10,500 acres with no containment. However, officials have said fire crews have been able to hold their lines. We will update as soon as more information has been received. Another great source of up-to-date information regarding the Cedar Creek Fire can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/cedarfireinfo.

Official Information vs. Non-Official

There are many people posting information  of their Facebook pages regarding the Cedar  fire. If the information is not coming from the 311 call center, the  311info website, Apache County Emergency Management Facebook, 311info Facebook, Navajo County Facebook, or the Facebook from the Type I incident management team which is www.facebook.com/cedarfireinfo.

Any other source has not been verified and may not be correct. Please, be careful with your posts, and telling nervous citizens untrue information. We know people are trying to be helpful, and some just want to be the one with fast information, that still does not mean it is correct information.

The 311 call center and the 311info website does not declare we are the quickest source of information, we state we verify all information from the official source before we post. This does take time. We now have a PIO from the Type I team who is in contact with us, and our information is their information that they are putting out.

This is a stressful time for Navajo County residents. Please let’s keep the rumors at bay by letting the officials push out the information to the public.
