Wind Advisory is in Effect for Thursday

1/29/2014 – A wind advisory is in effect for much of Northern Arizona for Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Strong winds can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Consider securing loose belongins on your property.

Starting Friday and continuting through Monday colder and unsettled weather will return as a series of weather disturbances mave across the area. The highes chances for precipitation look to be Friday and again Saturday afternoon and evening. Max tempuratures will be below normal.

Winter Weather Advisory in Effect for Northeastern Arizona today!

12/19/2013 – The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow. The advisory will be in effect from 8:00 p.m. this evening until noon Friday. Snow accumulations will range from 3 to 6 inches for areas above 6000 feet. Snow covered roadways and poor visibility will make driving dangerous.

Make sure if you do travel tonight to let somone know your route and vehicle description in case of an emergency. Have a “ready kit” for your car with snacks, water, blankets and sand or kitty litter for traction. Also have your cell phone completely charged whenever traveling in inclement weather.

Icy Roads in Northern Arizona this morning!

The threat for widespread freezing rain is coming to an end early this morning. However, isolated rain and snow showers will continue through mid-morning across Apache and Navajo Counties. Local pockets of freezing rain cannot be ruled out during that time. In addition, motorists should still be prepared for ice on roadways from previous showers earlier in the night.
