Weekend Weather Update

11/13/15 – Sunday gusty winds will develop out of the southwest ahead of an approaching cold front. This front is forecast to move across the area Sunday Night through Monday. High temperatures behind the front on Monday will be around 20 degrees colder than Sunday and gusty winds will make it feel even colder. Snow levels will drop rapidly behind the front ranging from 3500 feet over northwest Arizona to around 5000 feet near the White Mountains. Light snowfall amounts are expected at this time. Generally a trace to 3 inches above 5000 feet late Sunday night into Monday evening though locally higher amounts will be possible about 7000 feet.

Weather Update for Tuesday

11/9/15 – On Tuesday 1 to 2 inches of snowfall are expected above the 5000 foot elevation level from the Mogollon Rim north to the Utah border region. A few spots of locally higher amounts are possible. Wind gusts ahead of the cold front may briefly peak from 30 – 40 MPH along and just northeast of the White Mountains around noon.

Freeze Warning for Northeast Arizona

11/5/15 – The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning for tonight. Temperatures are expected to fall below freezing for the first time this season for several hours tonight between the elevations of 3000 feet and 5500 feet across portions of Northern Arizona. A Freeze Warning has been issued for these areas: Coconino, northern Gila, Navajo and Yavapai Counties. Cold low temperatures will continue across northern Arizona especially in the high country into the weekend.
