Official Cedar Fire update

****6/17/16 at 6:00pm***

Over the last few hours, fire activity increased on the SE side of the fire, producing additional smoke in the area. Although fire behavior was active in this portion of the main fire, it did not cross any of the established control lines on the eastern side. Crews continue to strengthen and extend the eastern control lines toward the south.

Pre-evacuation orders remain in effect at this time. Next official update at 8:30 am unless conditions change.

Cedar Creek Fire update

6/17/2016 at 9:39 am- The Cedar Creek Fire has increased to 9,200 acres, fire crews were able to maintain initial lines around the fire during the night. Winds will not be as strong today, blowing at 10-15mph which will aide crews battling the fire. Temperatures are expected to increase throughout the weekend.  The pre-evacuation warning remains in effect until further notice.

A joint press conference with Incident Management Team and Governor Ducey will occur today at 11:45 am in front of Show Low High School. We will post any updates as we receive them.
