6/16/2016 12:10 – We are trying to respond to several questions that we have received including the following.
- Green tag/Orange tag evacuation tags – This will be provided by law enforcement along with a release for your signature if you choose to stay.
- If you choose to stay, you will NOT be allowed to leave your property. If you are caught off of your property you will be taken to out of the evacuation area and not allowed to return.
- Utilities – Unisource Energy has advised they do NOT want customers to turn off their gas meters. If this is something that becomes necessary they will deploy personnel. Please contact Unisource at 877-837-4968.
Good Afternoon, I have a vacation home in Lakeside that is currently not occupied. How can I inform the correct officials that no one is at my property?
Thank you.
Hello, residents are instructed to place a white towel/ flagging near the front of their residence in a highly visible location. If you don’t have a neighbor that can do that for you, I’d suggest contacting the Navajo County Sherriff’s Office dispatch center (928-524-4050) to advise them. They should be able to relay that information to law enforcement.
Are they dropping these tags off at peoples houses or do we need to pick them up?
Thank you for keeping us up to date at a critical time. You answered questions that are coming to mind and you have helped to relieve some of the stress.

You speak here as if Evacuation is in effect. But it is not yet ordered. Is this correct?
A pre-evacuation has been issued, encouraging residents to prepare for a possible evacuation.
Are we being evacuated? Not sure if i should go to work??
Only a pre-evacuation notice has been issued. An actual evacuation notice has not been issued.
I am in PTCC. Stopped by the fire station and they had a tag we can put on the house if we evacuate. Should we tape to the front door or the garage? Will this save time for the hard working law enforcement save time?
