PRESS RELEASE

The White Mountain Apache Tribe will be lifting the Pre-Evacuation notice in effect for McNary, Hon-dah, and Forestdale today, Friday, June 24, 2016.

However, Cedar Creek and Carrizo will remain under “Pre-Evacuation” notice due to pending rain storms.

US 60 will remain closed. The Emergency Management Team of the Tribe is working with the National Weather Service to forecast potential flooding. Please remain calm.

A community meeting for Cedar Creek will be held at 6:30 PM tonight at JFK School.

The White Mountain Apache Tribe extends our appreciation and gratitude to John Pierson and his team for their professionalism in carrying out their duties while being mindful of the Tribe’s objectives under rigorous conditions. Please keep them and all firefighters in your prayers, as they continue to fight the Cedar Fire and protect our communities.

Sincerely,

Ronnie Lupe, Chairman
